Apple Expo 2003 will be held September 16-20 at the Paris Expo, Hall 4, in Paris, France. It’s billed as the “premiere IT event in France and the premiere Mac event in Europe.”
The Creative Solutions Center at Apple Expo will be targeted to creative professionals such as publishers, journalists, designers, photo engravers, printers, Web authors, photographers, mounters, filmmakers, and DVD authors. The Small/Medium Business Section will demonstrate business applications, focusing on solutions that utilize Apple’s Xserve.
There will be an “Apple and Healthcare” section. According to info at the Apple Expo Web site, statistics show that in France alone, the Mac is being used by up to 25 percent of doctors, 15 percent of dentists, and 12 percent of physiotherapists and nurses.
An Apple Education Center will be divided into four areas: the main Education Solutions Center; the Mac OS X Lab , where students will be able to experiment with Mac OS X; the Mobile Computing area; and the Teacher Room, where educators will have a chance meet their peers. The Games & Music Solutions Center will spotlight such technologies as OpenGL, QuickTime, FireWire, AirPort, as well as new games and music applications.
The Apple Expo 2003 keynote presentation will be held at the Palais des Congres in Paris, on September 16, at 10 a.m. There’s no word yet as to whom will do the keynote.
Exhibitors announced so far include Apple, Adobe, Canon, Epson, FileMaker, Griffin Technology, Harman Multimedia, Hewlett Packard, Macally, Marathon Computer, Nikon, Olympus, RealViz, Sonnet Technologies, Wacom, and more.
