The Apple User Group Advisory Board and the Macworld Planning Committee have announced a User Group Leadership Conference (UGLC) in New York City on July 15, the day before the
Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo.
This half-day event is this year’s only nationally focused Apple User Group leadership event on the East Coast, according to Chuck Joiner, editor-in-chief of
The MUG Center, and online resource for Mac user groups (MUGs).
All MUG leaders and enthusiasts are invited to attend. There are no per-group limits, and attendees have special accommodation options available through The New Yorker Hotel, the site of UGLC. The event will feature a working lunch presented by Adobe, workshops, discussion groups and a closing pizza party and networking session.
is now open. An Early Bird discount rate of US$30 is available before May 30; after that, it goes up to $50. Student discounts are also available.
MUGs are good places for making new friends, finding Mac-loving buddies, boning up your technical expertise, finding solutions to technical problems, and sometimes finding a good deal on used hardware. For more info on MUGs, and to find the location of the one nearest you, go to Apple’s
User Group Web page.
The Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo runs July 14-18 at the Javits Center in New York City.
