MacSpeech Inc., the makers of Mac-only speech recognition software, has released an iChat ScriptPak add-on for their iListen software. The US$10 iChat ScriptPak adds over 60 voice commands to iListen, and allows voice control of common functions and menus within iChat.
iListen, MacSpeech’s speech recognition software, has “TalkAnywhere” technology, which lets you dictate into virtually any Mac application. It translates speech to typed text and characters anywhere you would normally type. iListen is speaker dependent, meaning you have to spend some time “training” iListen to the unique cadence and timbre of your voice. However, it can handle multiple users, each with their own speech files. iListen runs on Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.x.
iListen costs $99 by itself or $149 with a USB microphone. ScriptPaks enhance the Voice Command and Control capabilities of iListen by voice enabling Menus and Specific functionality within the targeted application.
