A few weeks before Disney and Pixar’s newest computer-animated motion picture Finding Nemo hits theaters, game publisher THQ Inc. announced the release of games based on the movie for multiple platforms, including two titles compatible with the Mac. And for a limited time, each game package also includes a free ticket to see the movie once it’s released.
In addition to games for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and Game Boy Advance, two titles have been released for Mac and PC — Finding Nemo and Finding Nemo: Nemo’s Underwater World of Fun.
Finding Nemo is a game that sports arcade-style gameplay and follows the same concept as the console games — you join central characters from the movie (Marlin, Dory and Nemo) on an underwater adventure. The game features a combination of puzzles and arcade-style games as you interact with characters from the film, like Bruce, Crush and the Tank Gang. It also features film clips from the movie itself.
Finding Nemo: Nemo’s Underwater World of Fun is a title aimed at kids ages 4 and up. It features seven different mini-games and puzzle activities featuring the film’s central characters.
System requirements call for a G3 or better processor, Mac OS X 10.0 or later, 128MB RAM, 160MB free hard disk space, and QuickTime. Both games are rated E for Everyone by the ESRB, and carry a suggested retail price of US$19.99. Finding Nemo and Finding Nemo: Nemo’s Underwater World of Fun are expected to be widely available in the next few days.
