FirewireDirect.com has announced that it is shipping new external FireWire and FireWire/USB 2.0 combo hard drives in capacities of 320GB.
The drive uses Oxford Semiconductors’ Oxford 911 bridge board, and features two FireWire (1394a) interfaces. The Combo drive adds a single USB 2.0 interface, as well. The drive mechanism itself works at 5400RPM.
The drives are available in FirewireDirect’s Slimline Ultra III sapphire blue-colored chassis. The drive includes a 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable, USB 2.0 cable (if applicable), Intech Hard Disk SpeedTools v3.5 with QuickBench & Integrity, and 110-240V power adapter.
The FireWire-only edition is available for US$469; the FireWire/USB 2.0 Combo version costs $479. More details are available from the Web site.
