Independent game publisher GarageGames has released a new version of their freshman game release, Marble Blast. The new Marble Blast Gold version sports new levels and other enhancements.
Marble Blast is a 3D action game that puts you in control of a marble that you must navigate through dozens of levels of raised platforms floating in space high above the surface of the planet. You use your mouse and keyboard to move the marble and adjust the camera angle as you maneuver through the platforms, past pitfalls and onto narrow ramps and ledges. You can collect power up bonuses and compete to get the best time through each maze.
The new Gold version sports 28 new expert levels, new hazards, new power up bonuses, and a new “Gold” time standard for each level.
Marble Blast was created as part of GarageGames’ “Blast” line, a series of family-friendly arcade-style action games. Like GarageGames’ other titles, Marble Blast was developed using the Torque Game Engine, multiplatform 3D engine technology that was originally made to create Sierra’s Tribes 2 game. The engine has also been used to create other Mac titles from GarageGames including Orbz and ThinkTanks.
Marble Blast Gold costs US$19.95, and is available for Mac OS X. Registered users of the original version can pay $5 to upgrade to the Gold version.
