Charismac Engineering Inc.
has added support for Apple’s new AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) format within Discribe, the company’s CD/DVD mastering software.
Discribe allows you to create your own data CD and DVDs, CD and DVD Audio, DVD video on CD or DVD and mixed-mode discs for personal or professional use. It offers Audio CD mastering using AIFF files.
Now with Discribe 5.0.36, you can drag and drop an AAC file over the application’s interface, and Discribe will convert it to AIFF, allowing you to burn a standard audio CD. Also, converted files can be saved to your hard drive in AIFF format for future use.
Discribe 5.0.36 requires Mac OS 10.2.5 (or higher) and QuickTime 6.2. A demo is available at the Charismac Web site. Registration for new users is US$69.95; upgrades from previous versions of Discribe are $39.95, as are competitive upgrades from any competing CD burning solution.
