There will be a live demonstration of Final Cut Pro 4 at a May 28 joint meeting of the Chicago Final Cut Pro User Group (CHIFCPUG), and the After Effects Chicago user group. Also at the meeting, Trish Meyers, author of “Creating Motion Graphics,” will be talking about After Effects.
Charles Meyers, trainer and Apple systems engineer for professional film and video markets, will present a live demonstration of the new features in Final Cut Pro 4. Not only will the meeting be the Chicago premier of FCP 4, but Apple’s Shake 3 will be demoed, as well.
Meyers will offer tips on integrating AE with other applications. Richard Harrington, author of “Photoshop for Non-Linear Editors,” will also speak, offering Photoshop tips.
The joint meeting will be held at Northwestern University Law School’s Thorne Auditorium, 375 East Chicago Ave, Chicago. It starts at 6:15 p.m.; doors open at 5:30. If you plan on attending, you should pre-register at the CHIFCPUG Web site; attendance is free to CHIFCPUG annual members. For non-members, the cost is US$5. All paid attendees will receive a ticket for the group’s monthly raffle, which features software and hardware related to FCP and AE.
Meanwhile, Meyers will also be demonstrating the new Apple products at the May 15 meeting of the Dallas (Texas) Motion Graphics group. The group generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., but the May 15 meeting is a special one. Meetings are held a Richland College in Dallas.
