Mac game publisher
today announced that it will soon launch its Mac and PC conversion of SpyHunter, the hit console game.
Ported from the PlayStation2 title published by Midway, the game’s conversion was coordinated by TransGaming Technology, a developer of software portability solutions that first made a splash in 2002 with an announcement that it had
to ease the development of games to multiple platforms. Aspyr noted that the Mac and PC version was handled simultaneously.
SpyHunter is the first title that Aspyr has worked with TransGaming to bring to the Macintosh. It’s also the first of several titles that Aspyr is bringing both to the Mac and Windows, marking the company’s transition from a Mac-only game publisher to a cross-platform publisher. Since Aspyr’s announcement that it would bring
SpyHunter to the Macintosh, the company has announced several other Mac/PC conversions.
Based on the original 1980s coin-op arcade hit, SpyHunter puts players behind the wheel of the G-6155 Interceptor, a multipurpose vehicle that transforms from a car to a motorcycle to a boat to a jet ski. Players navigate high-speed courses as they blast hordes of enemies.
Look for SpyHunter soon where PC and Mac games are sold. More information is available from Aspyr’s Web site.
