RedleX has released Mellel 1.5.5, a new version of its word processor that adds support for input in Chinese, Japanese and Korean, as well as adding other new features.
Mellel is a US$25 multilingual word processor built for Mac OS X. It supports paragraph styles, character styles, tables, page styles, footnotesendnotes, live changes of attributes, right to left writing support, contextual menus and more.
Version 1.5.5 also adds a style variations option, a replace styles tool, and support for automatically opening .doc files. The style variations option lets you set up to eight variations per character style. With the Replace Styles feature, you can replace every style or styling attribute in your document with a keystroke.
“This is just the beginning,” Ori Redler of RedleX said. “Over the next few months, RedleX plans to issue many innovative new features, including an outline tool, Arabic and Persian support, index, table of contents, columns, long document management tools and much more.”
