Neon Software Inc. has released NetMinder Ethernet 5.0.2, an update to its network diagnostic and security software.
NetMinder Ethernet captures and decodes packet data as it moves through the network. Its mission: to pinpoint security issues and network problems. The new version includes support for Apple’s Rendezvous technology and packet traffic report optimization.
Rendezvous lets you create an “instant network” of Macs and smart devices by getting them connected to each other. The computers and devices take over from there, automatically broadcasting and discovering what services each is offering for the use of others.
In addition to Rendezvous support, NetMinder Ethernet 5.0.2 has been enhanced for large sites with heavy network traffic. The underlying architecture for packet traffic reporting has been optimized for faster access and display, according to Neon Software.
NetMinder Ethernet 5.0.2 is a free update to registered users of versions 5.0 and 5.0.1. For new users the cost is US$795. A separate updater is available for the Xserve Edition of NetMinder Ethernet, which is bundled exclusively with Xserve systems.
