WaterField Designs has released a new iPod case that’s built for the third generation device.
Since the new iPods have connectors on the bottom for the docking station and cable, WaterField Designs’ new US$40 case has a slit on the bottom to allow you to attach the cable without taking the iPod out of the case. The new case is designed so the iPod slides in from the bottom (compared to the top on the original case).
As the new iPods are a little smaller than the originals, so WaterField Designs had to change the size of the new case. They modified the design of the case so that one size can now accommodate all three iPod sizes (10GB, 15GB and 30GB).
Like their predecessors, the new iPods use the same UltraClip, so if you have UltraClip accessories that worked with the original iPod case, they’ll work with the new one, as well. The exterior of the new iPod Case is mostly black ballistic nylon with WaterField’s signature textured blue, red or white trim.
Also, the company says it will continue to sell the original iPod Case “for as long as there is demand.”
