Hundreds of enthusiastic Mac users showed up to welcome the newest Apple retail store, which opened on Saturday in Honolulu. As with most Apple retail openings, people arrived early to be one of the first in the store, but the Hawaiian people did something a little different to open Apple’s new location.
“In Hawaii, we have a tradition of blessing the office/store with a Hawaiian chant,” said Mark Hack, who attended the store opening. “After the small ceremony the doors were flung open and everyone went inside.”
The line-ups continued into the afternoon — when Hack left shortly after lunch, there were still 70 – 90 people still waiting to get in.
