eveloper Steven Becker has released WebPrint Plus X 2.0, a new version of the Mac OS X toolset for collecting, saving, printing, and editing information. The update lets you print selected graphics and pictures and more.
WebPrint Plus X works in conjunction with most applications and on the Internet. You can select and save or print anything from a single character to multiple pages, as well as add time-date stamps and notes to anything you save or print. It also brings a virtual desktop printer to Mac OS X that supports drag and drop printing of selections and clipping files.
In addition to the ability to print selected graphics and pictures, WebPrint Plus X 2.0 adds a universal keyboard shortcut to Mac OS X for using the keyboard to save selected text/images in most applications. This feature works even when WebPrint Plus X is configured to run as a desktop printer and when WebPrint Plus X is made invisible. This feature is in addition to the universal keyboard shortcut WebPrint Plus X adds to Mac OS X for printing selected text and images.
Version X 2.0 adds a WebSaver feature to Mac OS X that supports drag and drop printing of text and images from the Web. The desktop printer now prints images/graphics, includes the WebSaver feature, and can be used to either immediately save or print the contents of the Clipboard.
As of version 2.0, WebPrint Plus X’s main displays now support printing or saving the contents of the Clipboard; this can be done on the fly. The built-in text editor has been expanded and can be used for adding content to collected data and for creating new content.
WebPrint Plus X 2.0 requires Mac OS X 10.1 or later. A demo version is available from Becker’s Web site. Registration is US$39.95. For a limited time, PrintMagic X users may upgrade to WebPrint Plus X for $19.95.
