Peripheral maker Logitech announced today that it will make its forthcoming Dual Action Pad available at retail outlets this summer. The USB-based gamepad is Mac and PC compatible.
Previewed at last week’s E3 Expo, the Dual Action Pad features two rubber-capped analog joysticks along with an eight-way D-pad, four triggers and six buttons. The design of the gamepad is smaller than previous models, as well.
Logitech has long supported the Mac with its keyboard and mouse offerings. The company made a splash with Mac gamers earlier this year when it announced that it would offer Mac-compatible force feedback game controllers; force-feedback is a fairly recent addition to Mac OS X’s capabilities. This particular gamepad is not force-feedback-equipped, but it is another offering aimed at Mac and PC gamers alike.
Logitech has not yet offered a price for the model, but it says the Dual Action Pad will reach retailers this summer. It will also be available from Logitech directly.
