Elluminate Inc., has announced vClass 4, an update of its real-time education, demonstration, and collaboration environment. Due June 1, it’s compatible with Mac (Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X) and Windows systems.
vClass enables the delivery of live, online learning, training and meeting over the Internet via a moderator-led environment, two-way audio, interactive white boards, direct text messaging, and application sharing over the Internet. Version 4 provides additional functionality, improved performance, and the Collaborative Communication Framework (CCF), according to Elluminate CEO Nashir Samanani.
vClass is built for live, rich-media, many-to-many collaboration even as Internet conditions vary from time to time and participant to participant, he added. Elluminate’s CCF works to automatically ensure that all components are completely integrated and automatically synchronized.
vClass 4 can be licensed on a server-based, per-seat basis, or as a hosted service. For details and a preview, go to the Elluminate Web site. Note that there have been some problems reported with vClass and Mac OS X 10.2.3. See Elluminate’s Macintosh Frequently Asked Questions for more info.
