Bönig und Kallenbach oHG’s Service USB interface has been updated with support for new software.
Service USB is a universal interface with eight digital inputs and outputs, along with two analog inputs. With Service USB installed, you can use your Mac control complex multimedia systems, stage lights, fireworks, scientific equipment, sensors and other gear.
The new version of Service USB now supports 4th Dimension’s 4D database software. Macromedia Director MX and Max/MSP. 4D can be used to record long-term value measurements like temperature, for example. Director MX can be implemented as a way to control switch and lighting systems. Max/MSP, used in the music business, can control other interactive media — stage lights, laser disk players, and more.
Previously issued software samples for AppleScript, RealBasic, Hypercard, Ragtime, FileMaker, Projectbuilder, CodeWarrior and fischertechnik applications have been updated to work with the new driver.
Separate versions are available for Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.
