Apple’s Games Web page features new trailers, links to demos, and previews of upcoming games, and it’s updated every week. Recently, the site took a look at Aspyr Media’s conversion of Bloodrayne, a new third person action game.
Bloodrayne features Rayne, a red-haired dhampir — that’s a creature who’s half-human, half-vampire. She’s a member of the Brimstone Society, a secret agency tasked with quelling supernatural events from affecting the world. Set in the 1930s, Bloodrayne pits Rayne against a secret sect of occult-using Nazis.
As a third-person action game, Bloodrayne plays a bit like Lara Croft, and a bit like Max Payne. Unlike those mundane characters, though, Rayne has special vampiric powers (like the ability to see “auras” in the dark and to regenerate her own life by drinking the blood of her foes) and really imaginative weapons (like arm blades) to even the odds.

Oh, by the way: the Mac version of Bloodrayne actually beat its PC counterpart to market!
