Destineer subsidiary MacSoft has announced the release of Tropico: Mucho Macho Edition. It’s a new strategy game compilation available at a budget price.
Tropico is a real time strategy game that puts you in the role of the dictator of a banana republic. The game was developed for both Mac and PC by PopTop Software, Inc. — the same company that developed Railroad Tycoon II. MacSoft published Tropico in its original incarnation, as well.
In Tropico, it’s your job to manage your Caribbean island country’s resources effectively and to keep its people happy — or at least under control. Do so and you can live a long and happy life, and take off with the loot when you’re ready to retire. Don’t, and the same thing that happened to infamous real-world dictators like Noriega and Ceaucescu may happen to you.
The “Mucho Macho” edition adds a new Paradise Island expansion pack, bringing the world of tourism to your little island paradise. 12 all-new scenarios are included, along with the Brady Games Strategy Guide and an in-depth “making of” featurette.
What’s more, MacSoft is releasing Tropico: Mucho Macho Edition for only US$19.99.
Tropico: Mucho Macho Edition requires a G3 or G4/350MHz or faster, 128MB RAM, Mac OS X 10.1.5 or higher, or Mac OS 9.1 or higher. a 16MB video card is required if you wish to use OpenGL graphics rendering (if not, the game also supports a software-based rendering engine).
