Mac game publisher
has announced plans to publish a Mac version of Zoo Tycoon, the popular PC game that puts you in the role of an zoo administrator.
You’re in charge of the zoo in Zoo Tycoon, and it’s up to you to build the most fun and exciting zoo you can, at least within your budget. You design the park, choosing from more than 200 different animals, exhibits and materials. You have to keep the animals happy and healthy, plus you keep your customers happy and coming back for more — otherwise you’ll see your profits plummet.
Zoo Tycoon was originally developed by Blue Fang Games and published for the PC by Microsoft Game Studios. The Mac conversion of Zoom Tycoon is being handled by Westlake Interactive, and will be published by Aspyr Media once it’s done. Aspyr reports that the game is already at its Final Candidate development milestone, the final stage before a game is declared Gold Master and sent to duplication. The company expects to ship Zoo Tycoon in June.
Preliminary system requirements for Zoo Tycoon call for a G3/233MHz or faster; 128MB RAM; 600MB hard disk space; 16MB video card; Mac OS X 10.1 or later and Mac OS 9.2 or later.
Zoo Tycoon is rated “E” for Everyone by the ESRB and has a suggested retail price of US$49.95.
