The K4 Publishing System, a modular publishing system for Adobe InDesign and InCopy, has been updated to version 4.3. The update improves the K4 Admin tool and improves support for text-driven workflow.
The cross-platform product links InDesign and InCopy with a SQL database to provide a collaborative workflow system suitable for individual workgroups and publishing enterprises. It’s designed to help graphic designers and editors organize their work, as well as to control the production process. InDesign is Adobe’s document creation software; InCopy provides copy-fitting and editorial toolsets.
The K4 Publishing System offers multilevel security controls and robust customization options, check-in and check-out of content, simultaneous workflow between layout and editorial, copy editing at the page stage, content and layout change alerting, workflow routing, status tracking, version control, galley or WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editing mode, red lining, change tracking, and inline notes.
The K4 Publishing System 4.3 requires Mac OS X (10.1 or higher) or Mac OS 9.2 (or higher), as well as Adobe InDesign 2.0.2 or Adobe InCopy 2.0.1. Go to the product Web site, for more details, including pricing structures.
