The icon mavens at The IconFactory have recently posted news about a project they’re now working on with the developers at Panic, makers of Audion and Transmit.
The two companies are collaborating on a new tool for Mac OS X icon fans called Pixadex. The Iconfactory and Panic previously collaborated on a product called CandyBar — a Mac OS X toolbar icon customization tool.
The Iconfactory claims that Pixadex “does for icons what iPhoto did for images, plus more,” although the company has stopped short of providing specific details of how Pixadex works and what its full feature set consists of. The Iconfactory has posted a link to a screenshot showing users what Pixadex looks like in action, however.
The Iconfactory said that it and Panic have been working on Pixadex “for months,” and added that it’s “quite close to completion.” It expects to release Pixadex in about a month (and no, the company’s not looking for beta testers). For more details, visit the Web site.
