Writing for the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, Timothy Roberts offers some details about Bay Area Mac reseller Elite Computer and Software Inc.’s recent shutdown. The independent Apple retailer has closed its retail operations, and its owner blames the shutdown on Apple itself.
Thomas Armes claims that Apple provided new products to its own retail stores up to a month before his company was able to get them, and gave Elite less stock than Apple Stores, as well.
Elite filed suit against Apple in March, claiming breach of contract, unfair competition, false advertising and fraud.
Roberts reports that despite Elite’s closure of its Cupertino, Capitola, Sunnyvale, San Rafael and Berkeley stores, the company continues to make corporate sales, although Apple hardware is no longer part of the offering.
