The SiteLink Network has launched MacExclusives, a new Web site that provides developers of Mac OS X software a way to advertise products to end users at no cost, offering discounts in the process.
The way the site works, developers can use MacExclusives to promote special deals on their products. The bigger the discount to end users, the higher up on the Web page the deal will appear. Developers have control over which of their products are listed, how deep the discounts are, and when the deals expire. Links are handled through the developers’ normal channels, too.
So what’s in it for MacExclusives? The site draws no income from the developers who use the service — instead, it’s an outlet for the SiteLink Network’s own advertisements.
Already, MacExclusives has listed a variety of popular shareware items from companies including To-The-Point Software, Unsanity and St. Clair Software — deals range from 10 to 25 percent off.
Developers looking to promote their Mac OS X products are encouraged to drop MacExclusives a line for further details.
