4D Inc. has released 4D Business Kit v2.0, a new version of their e-commerce storefront solution for Mac and Windows. The new version adds bi-directional updating and other new features too.
Created by the makers of the 4th Dimension RDBMS system, 4D Business Kit is a complete storefront system that includes modules to handle catalog creation, shopping carts, tax and multiple currency handling, customer management, order tracking and other features. The software can either function on its own or works hand-in-hand with Web servers including 4D WebSTAR, Apache and others.
The new version of 4D Business Kit now dynamically synchronizes Web pages, items, orders and customer data. It also works with proxy servers, Dreamweaver MX and Sophisticated Circuits’ UpBeat technology. 4D has revamped the software’s application programming interface (API) to make it possible to integrate 4D Business Kit with more systems than before, as well. And new security settings have been added.
A new Taxes module has been included with version 2.0 that lets you define different taxes based on geographical data. Each store can now process different input currencies, as well. 20 new commands have been added and 65 new information fields are available, also.
4D Business Kit 2.0 runs on Mac OS X and Mac OS, and is available for US$499 for a two-store license. Five-store expansion packs are also available.
