Iomega Corp. is offering a 30-day free trial of Iomega iStorage Online, an online storage system that’s designed to provide secure file access from any Internet connection. The offer is available to anyone in the U.S. with access to the Internet.
The free trial version offers 50MB of online storage. Regular Iomega iStorage Online accounts at this capacity start at US$2.49 a month with two months free for purchasers of a 12-month annual subscription. You can get 1GB for $17.95 per month; 100MB, 250MB and 500MB capacities are also available.
User data is encrypted for security and stored in a redundant storage infrastructure with security processes and software, telco-grade disk drives, multiple tape backups, and offsite tape storage, according to Iomega. iStorage Online also includes Whalemail, which lets you share large e-mail attachments by sending a link to an iStorage Online file, rather than the file itself.
