HairerSoft has released version 3.6 of Amadeus II, a disk-based visual waveform audio file editing and analyzing application for Mac OS X (10.2 and higher) and Mac OS 9.x.
With Amadeus II, you can use your Mac for such tasks as live audio recording, digitizing tapes and records, sampling from an external source, and editing-analyzing MP3, Ogg Vorbis, AIFF, SoundDesigner II, QuickTime, or .WAV files. You can edit large sounds — and take advantage of extensive marker support — thanks to Amadeus II’s direct-to-disk capabilities.
Version 3.6 adds a new recording/timer dialog. It can open MP4 (MPEG-4 Structured Audio) files and let you save sounds as Advanced Audio Coding (AAC)-encoded QuickTime movies. Amadeus II 3.5 also lets you manage sounds of arbitrary size (without the previous 2GB limit). There’s also Mach-O VST plug-in support.
Amadeus II 3.6 is localized in English, French, German, and Italian. It’s a shareware product with a US$25 registration fee.
