Music software maker Sibelius USA Inc. has released
G7, a new multiplatform tab authoring software application designed specifically for guitarists. What’s more, when you get the software, you also get a free Web page where you can post info about yourself.
With G7, musicians can create lead sheets or Piano-Vocal-Guitar scores. G7 features fretboard entry, and can convert ASCII tab data into a format that plays back and can be rearranged. You can play back bends, slides and other guitar techniques, as well. G7 also can read scanned copies of printed tab sheets. Scanned tab can also be turned into standard notation.
G7 includes the “Guitar Guide,” a resource that includes info on guitars, playing techniques, music styles, and audio examples and illustrations. The Web page you’re given as a G7 owner provides a spot where musicians can put their photo, bio, and music, to help market themselves to a worldwide audience. You can also share your G7-made compositions, using Sibelius’ free Scorch plug-in.
G7 is available now for US$149.
