Panergy Ltd. has upgraded icWord and icExcel, which the company positions as alternatives to full versions of Microsoft’s Office products. The applications let you open, read, export, and print Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
icWord — for viewing Word, AppleWorks, and PowerPoint documents — has been updated to version 3.0. The update offers better opening and saving capabilities with AppleWorks files, boasts more conversion options, and displays and saves NisusWriter files. icWord 3.0 also provides better support of fields and large tables, improved viewing of Rich Text Format (RTF) documents, better font substitution, and enhanced WordArt rendering.
icExcel — – for viewing Excel and AppleWorks spreadsheets — has been revved to version 2.0. The latest version displays Excel text boxes, Word Art, and other elements; offers improved printing with Mac OS 8.6-9.x; recognizes quoted text upon opening files; enhances functionality with AppleWorks files; and more.
Demos of icWord and icExcel are available at the Panergy Web site. Registration is US$19.95 for each product — or you can order them as a $29.95 bundle.
