J2S has released J2SPrint 1.0, a software application designed to automatically print image files with their associated IPTC (International Press and Telecommunications Council) data.
You can manually trigger the printing process by dragging and dropping a selection of files onto the J2SPrint icon. The application can also operate in batch mode by scanning a source folder at regular intervals, then printing the documents that are dropped inside the source folder.
J2SPrint fits the image into the print layout and extracts IPTC information before sending the information to the printer. On Mac OS X, J2SPrint can alternately print on up to 10 different printers. The app runs on Mac OS X (10.2 or higher) or Mac OS 9.x.
Depending on the settings, J2SPrint can move printed files to a target folder or delete them. You can have the software change the file modification date to the time the file was printed. Also, a log file lists all information processed by J2SPrint.
J2SPrint supports all file formats supported by QuickTime. File formats that support IPTC data are JPEG, TIF, PSD, EPSF, and native IPTC.
A demo version of J2SPrint can be downloaded from the J2S Web site, but is limited to files under 100Kb. Registration is US$176.
