InFocus Corp. on Tuesday announced the LP120, a portable digital projector. The company calls the device a “smart, personal projector,” and has developed the projector for road warriors looking for a portable projector system.
The LP120 supports InFocus LiteShow, the company’s recently announced wireless solution that enables most InFocus projectors built over the last four years to accept slideshows from computers equipped with WiFi-compatible wireless networking hardware like Apple’s own AirPort cards.
The LP120 weighs 1.98 pounds and measures 2.05 inches high x 3.69 long x 9.75 wide. The LP120 sports a 100/240V power supply and features DVI, S-Video and 3.5mm audio mini-jack inputs. The projector features native XGA (1024 x 768 pixel) resolution.
The LP120 displays images with 1100 lumens of brightness and a 2000:1 contrast ration. It can display 16.7 million colors and throws an image from 2.7 inches to 22.2 feet wide from distances of 1.5 to 5 meters. InFocus collaborated with Philips Lighting to use Philips’ UHP BackMirror technology to provide the display capabilities in the LP120’s small dimensions.
The LP120 also features an interactive display that provides plain language feedback in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian and Italian. The display tells you the working status of the projector and provides other information.
The LP120 is anticipated for a summer release with an estimated price of US$2,799. It comes with a protective sleeve. A special “Coach Edition” featuring a Coach-designed briefcase especially made for the LP120 will also be available, for $3,299.
