Aspyr Media just started shipping NASCAR Racing 2003 Season this week, but the company is already offering an add-on for Mac gamers who have purchased the game — the NASCAR Racing 2003 Season Track Pack.
NASCAR Racing 2003 Season is the second edition of the NASCAR auto racing game developed by Papyrus and published for the PC by Sierra. This version’s predecessor was one of the first Mac games to support force feedback via Mac OS X 10.2.3 or higher. The new version sports even more realistic physics, improved graphics, and better computer AI (artificial intelligence) to provide a more realistic racing simulation all the way round.
NASCAR Racing 2003 Season includes all the tracks, teams and sponsors represented on this year’s NASCAR racing circuit, and NASCAR Racing 2003 Season Track Pack takes the game a step further by adding three “fantasy” tracks to the game that don’t exist in real life: The Eight Bowl Superspeedway, a 2.5-mile long figure eight track with 31 degrees of banking; Hillside International Speedway, a short 1-mile long track with 36 degrees of banking; and Papyrus Motorsports Park, a 3.77-mile long course with 7 high-speed turns.
The 18MB download is available now from Macgamefiles.com. It requires the full version of NASCAR Racing 2003 Season to work.
If you haven’t tried NASCAR Racing 2003 Season yet and you’d like to kick the tires and take it out for a spin, a playable demo with two tracks is available for download. That demo won’t work with the Track Pack, however.
