Apple’s newest Boston-area retail store is planning to open on Saturday, June 14th at the Chestnut Hill Mall in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The store is located on the ground level of the mall near Filene’s.
The Chestnut Hill location will be Apple’s third Boston-area store. The company has previously opened retail store locations in Peabody and Cambridge. Apple’s Chestnut Hill location opens up the company to traffic from residents of Boston’s populous MetroWest communities who may have up until now been unwilling to travel north of the city or into the urban area of Cambridge for an Apple retail store experience.
To celebrate the grand opening of the retail store, Apple has planned a week of events, including educational presentations, demonstrations and workshops. And the first 1,000 people in the door will each get a free Apple t-shirt.
A Grand Opening Sweepstakes also allows folks who come in between June 14 and June 30, 2003 to enter to win a “Digital Lifestyle Collection” valued at nearly US$2,300 — including a flat-panel iMac, Canon PowerShot S230 camera, Canon ZR60 DV camcorder, and Epson Stylus Photo 820 printer. No purchase is necessary, but you do have to enter in person.
