German developer Boinx Software has offered a preview release of its
software. It’s a Mac OS X tool designed for stop motion and timelapse photography.
Boinx iStopMotion has a live preview mode and can “onion skin” up to five previously captured images, so you can better control how each frame is animated. Editing in external applications is supported, as is speech recognition, and images can be captured uncompressed in your target movie resolution.
New features in this release of Boinx iStopmotion include the external application support and a new “blink” mode that alternates the current video feed with the last captured frame. UI changes have been made, and more.
Boinx iStopMotion is available for download now as a time-limited demo. Three license options are offered: The free Lite version, which supports resolution of up to 320 x 240 pixels; A US$39.95 DV license (a special introductory price) captures movies resolutions suitable for use in iMovie or Final Cut Pro projects. A Pro version will also be made available, and it will feature higher resolution support.
