Tredje Design has released TrashLater v3.0, a new version of its trash collection automation software, now for the first time for Mac OS X. The new version replaces v2.3, which worked on “Classic” Mac OS only.
TrashLater introduces a “fridge folder” into which you can put files that should be trashed at a later date, like in a week or a month. You determine the length of time the files should remain in the “fridge,” and TrashLater X monitors them and moves them to the trash after the specified time.
Practical examples of TrashLater’s use include clearing your Web browser’s cache folder at the end of the day; limiting the content of backup folders to files that are no more than a year old; and moving files from your download folder older than 10 days.
In addition to Mac OS X support, TrashLater v3.0 adds the ability to change all settings in the user interface, including scheduling. TrashLater v3.0 is localized with English, German and Swedish support.
TrashLater v3.0 is distributed as shareware and costs US$12 to register. It works with any version of Mac OS X.
