The deadline for educators to enter Apple’s iLife Awards is June 13. Entries — which can include curriculum-based iLife projects and lesson plans — must be postmarked by that date.
Open to K-12 educators, the Apple iLife Educator Awards lets entrants share their iLife lesson plans with fellow teachers and win new Apple products for their classrooms. Prizes have retail values of up to US$20,000.
First prize is a Mobile Digital Media Studio for the winner’s school. The studio includes eight iBooks, three Canon ZR60 DV cameras, a Canon PowerShot A60 digital still camera, a Canon CanoScan LiDE 30 scanner, an Epson PowerLite 52c projector, a Bretford mobile cart, four microphones/headphones, and three 20GB FireWire drives. The winning teacher will get a 12-inch PowerBook with SuperDrive, a Canon ZR60 DV camera, and a Canon PowerShot A60 digital still camera.
The second prize winner gets a 12-inch Apple PowerBook with SuperDrive, a Canon ZR60 DV camera, and a Canon PowerShot A60 digital still camera. Five third place winners will receive a 10GB iPod. Fifty Honorable Mentions will be named, with each receiving an Apple T-shirt.
Winning projects will be published and highlighted on the Apple Education Web site. For eligibility information and complete program details, cruise on over to the iLife Educator Awards Web site.
