UK Mac game publisher Feral Interactive is nearing the end of its conversion of Warrior Kings, a real time strategy game. set in a medieval realm. A recent update from company spokesman Camille Thouvenin revealed that Warrior Kings will be coming this summer, with specific changes to better suit Mac players.
In Warrior Kings, you can play a solo campaign of 22 seperate missions as king Artos. You lead legions of good, evil or neutral soldiers into battle, raising an army comprising hundreds of units chosen between 60 different types. It allows multiplayer support for up to eight players, as well.
Warrior Kings was originally developed for the PC by Black Cactus and published by Microids. The game is currently in the late stages of development at Zonic, a frequent development partner of Feral. Feral and Zonic previously collaborated on Black & White and its expansion park Creature Isle, Sim Theme Park, and the first Mac game to support Mac OS X force feedback technology, F1 Championship Season 2000.
Feral elected to make several Mac-specific changes in Warrior Kings, as well. Full Scene Anti Aliasing has been added. This technology allows some video cards to “smooth” the jagged edges of polygonal graphics to display a more natural image. What’s more, the game supports the widescreen resolution available on some Macs.
Feral and Zonic have also added a software update feature, to make sure you have the latest patch installed, and are using a later version of the software than what’s available for the PC. They’re also including four exclusive desktops designed by popular game desktop designer Brad Custer.
