Apple has introduced a new Web site for IT managers in education that’s designed to provide technical resources for integrating Mac OS X. “Technical Resources for Integrating Mac OS X” is an interactive site that promises the opportunity to “learn about — and discuss — Mac OS X installation, deployment, and maintenance in your school.”
The site offers an IT Info Center that looks at topics such as deployment, Mac OS X migration, management, networking, software archives, suggested reading, troubleshooting, Windows integration, and more. “How-to guides” provides instructions on such topics as “Setting up basic print services for Mac OS X Server,” “Provide Windows file services in Mac OS X Server,” and “Set up basic authentication to an Active Directory Server.”
“Technical Resources for Integrating Mac OS X” has a software section that spotlights programs that are popular among IT managers. Additionally, there’s a searchable database for those looking for something specific. The Community section offers threads of discussion on a variety of topics. The education IT Web site also serves up related technology news and FAQs (frequently asked questions).
