YazSoft has revved Speed Download, the download manager, to version 2, which has a completely redesigned Mac OS X interface, integration with Apple’s Rendezvous technology, Version Tracker search/integration, and more.
The Mac OS X native application offers multithreading so you can go online and download as many files as you want, simultaneously. It’s built to optimize both high speed and dial-up Internet connections. Besides the previously mentioned changes, the version 2 update is also faster, adds multiple URL download support, adds new folder and queue system management, and more.
A 15-day demo version of Speed Download 2 can be downloaded from the YazSoft Web site. Registration is US$20 for a single user license; volume and site licensing are also available. There’s no upgrade pricing, though Speed Download 2 is free to anyone who registered the previous version after May 1. It requires Mac OS X 10.2.6 and works with all Mac OS X compatible browsers, including Apple’s Safari.
