Apple subsidiary FileMaker Inc. has released an update to its free FileMaker to Keynote tool. The new version assures compatibility with Keynote 1.1, released on June 4th.
The FileMaker to Keynote Tool enables developers to extract text, graphics and chart data from FileMaker Pro 6 databases, which can then be repurposed for use in Keynote presentations. FileMaker Pro is the popular cross-platform database software. The software enables users to create everything from simple databases or workgroups with up to 250 concurrent guests running off a server. Keynote is Apple’s presentation software, enabling users to incorporating text, graphics, animation and multimedia elements into slideshows that can be displayed on their Mac or exported to other formats.
What’s more, FileMaker hosts more than 20 different XSLT stylesheets that can be used for various tasks from converting FileMaker Pro data to Excel to FileMaker Pro to iPod and more. The stylesheets translate XML grammars, allowing the data to be used by other XML-compliant applications.
