The PowerBook and iBook have been nominated in the Best Linux Hardware category of the UK LinuxUser & Developer Awards. They’re competing against the SGI Altrix 3000 (a family of clusters and superclusters) and the Xinit Sharq SPS440 (an enterprise-class SCSI-based server).
Winners will be named at the awards ceremony on June 24, which kicks off the LinuxUser & Developer Expo. The expo runs June 24-26 in Birmingham.
The conference will feature presentations from Linux experts, open source proponents, industry players, and users who have made the move to Linux. It will cover topical matters facing both users and developers of Linux, including legal and political issues, total cost of ownership, security, Web applications, and Linux in a desktop environment.
