Mac peripheral maker and distributor Dr. Bott announced Friday plans to sell TEN Technology’s naviPod, a device that enables iPod users to control their peripherals by wireless infrared remote control. Dr. Bott will be distributing the naviPod for its manufacturer.
The naviPod plugs into the top of the iPod and features a five-button infrared remote control that duplicates the functions offered in the iPod’s own wired remote: Play, pause, next, previous, and volume.
The naviPod device comes in two models. Both sport audio out ports and chrome stands. One model is compatible with all FireWire port-equipped iPods; the other is designed to work with Apple’s most recent iPod models equipped with the Dock connector.
Dr. Bott is now accepting pre-orders for the naviPod for US$49.95. It’ll be available through authorized Dr. Bott resellers as well as the Apple online store. Reseller inquiries are welcome.
