Melbourne, Australia-based Blackmagic Design on Friday announced the release of DeckLink 4.0, an update to the software that drives their DeckLink video capture cards. The new version adds support for features found in Apple’s Final Cut Pro 4.
Blackmagic’s DeckLink line are uncompressed QuickTime-based video capture cards designed for the Mac. The new version of the DeckLink software incorporates support for RT Extreme, Final Cut Pro’s real-time effects architecture. What’s more, DeckLink 4 supports the new multi-channel audio features in Final Cut Pro — up to eight channels of audio output.
DeckLink 4 also offers the ability to output content for use with non-QuickTime applications like Adobe Photoshop. It also supports Adobe After Effects 16 bit RGB rendering, and Discreet Combustion quick capture and real-time RAM previews.
DeckLink 4 is offered as a free upgrade to existing DeckLink customers.
