Emagic has updated two of its audio products, Epic TDM and HostTDM Enabler, adding Mac OS X support.
Epic TDM is a collection of 15 Logic Platinum plug-ins that can be used with any TDM compatible host software. They include Tape Delay, Tremolo, Autofilter, Ensemble, Spectral Gate, ES1, Enveloper, Phaser, SubBass, Modulation Delay, and five distortion effects.
HostTDM Enabler is a TDM link that lets you insert your Emagic software instruments ES1, ES2, EVP88, EVB3 and EVD6 into auxiliary channels of your TDM mixer. It can be used with Logic Platinum, MOTU Digital Performer or Digidesign Pro Tools software.
Both updates are free to registered users of the product.
Additionally, Emagic is now offering the EXSP24 sample player, and the EVP73 vintage piano instrument in one package dubbed the Player Edition. Both instruments now run under any Audio Units-compatible host software, providing sample-based sound processing and playback, as well as Rhodes electric piano emulation under Mac OS X. the Player Edition replaces the previously available individual EXSP24 and EVP73 products. (Pricing for the Player Edition wasn’t available at the Emagic store as this article was being written.)
Emagic was bought by Apple last July. The company now operates as a wholly owned division of Apple.
