has released the “final” version of xTime Project 1.0, a new project management tool for Mac OS X, and a new version of the wKiosk Browser.
Designed to help users organize, track, and manage work-related projects (for instance, human resources are linked to tasks), xTime Project works with Apple’s iCal and AddressBook applications.
Gantt charts display project details in daily to yearly timelines. The Projects View illustrates assignments and resource usage. There’s AutoFit formatting, the ability to set task dependencies, and summary bars for illustrating the earliest start and finish dates of a project phase. You can assign a single resource to projects or allocate multiple resources. xTime’s Critical Path highlighting feature identifies key tasks with the least flexibility for change. You can also summarize project costs and other key values with the tool’s Report function, xTime Project comes with over 10 example schedules.
It works on all versions of Mac OS X, though some functions require Mac OS X 10.2 or higher. xTime is available in English, French, German, and Spanish. AppMac is offering the product at an introductory price (good through June 30) of US$119 for the CD version and $99 for a downloadable version. Pricing includes free unlimited updates and support.
Meanwhile, the new version (2.1) of wKiosk Browser, a Web browser for Internet or intranet kiosks in public spaces, adds an integrated print function, cookies management, cache management, and more options for new windows.
wKiosk works on all versions of Mac OS X, though, as with xTime Project, some functions need Mac OS X 10.2 or later. It, too, is available in English, French, German, and Spanish versions. The cost is $179 for the CD-ROM and $149 for downloads.
