Tinnef Software has released Work Sets, an application designed to remember and restore the open applications, documents, Web pages, Finder windows and other items on Mac OS X.
Work Sets has been developed to provide you with a way of quickly restoring the condition of your computer to a pre-defined set, if there are applications, documents, file locations and other content you frequently work with. Tinnef Software claims that Work Sets operates with any native Mac OS X application, but the software includes extended support for popular Mac apps: applications are launched and captured documents are opened to their original positions. You can assign key combos, or hotkeys, to restore work sets from any other application.
An AppleScript editor is included that offers syntax highlighting and other features to allow you to add and edit AppleScripts to Work Sets. Preloaded AppleScripts are included to control iTunes and QuickTime Player.
“Enhanced” applications supported by Work Sets include AppleWorks 6, BBEdit, Finder, Internet Explorer, iPhoto, iTunes, Microsoft Word, OmniGraffle, and many others.
Work Sets requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later. It costs US$25 to register.
