Keyspan is shipping a hardware and software combination that lets you add and use parallel printers with Macs running Mac OS X (10.2 and higher).
The US$39 USB Parallel Printer Adapter is a six-foot cable used to connect a parallel printer to the USB port on your Mac; it’s compatible with over 200 parallel inkjet, laser, and dot matrix printers. To add parallel printers to the Mac OS X Print Center, you install third party driver such as Gimp-Print, then install the Keyspan Printer Utility, which is a free download.
After this, add your printer from the list to your Mac’s Print Center. Once the printer is added to the Print Center, printing is accomplished via the CUPS printing engine and third party drivers.
