The User Group Leadership Conference and MUG (Mac User Group) events at next month’s Macworld CreativePro Conference & Expo take center stage in this week’s User Group Report, with a report from the Macworld Planning Committee and an interview with one of the lead sponsors. The report also continues the introduction of the Apple Regional Liaison Team.
The User Group Report is the Internet radio show hosted by Chuck Joiner that features interviews with people making news in the user group community. Joiner is editor of the MUG Center, an online resource for MUGs.
In this week’s report Elizabeth Statmore of Circus Ponies discusses her company’s new product NoteBook, how they see the user group community as a way to connect with the Mac market, and why they have initiated a user group program and elected to be a Platinum sponsor of The User Group Leadership Conference.
Rex Covington of the Houston Area Apple Users Group and Regional Liaison member for the South Central United States talks about how his group always manages to land great presenters. Members of The Macworld Planning Committee (including Pat Fauquet, Sandy Foderick, Trish Huffman, Carmela Robertson, Lesa Snider, Elsa Travisano, and Warren Williams) look at the events coming up at the CreativePro event.
Joe and Susan Pipala of the Lake Macintosh Users Group and the husband-and-wife team who are serving as regional liaisons for online groups, tell why they’re involved in three different groups, offer their insights into online groups, and discuss what they hope to be able to do in their new positions.
Apple Regional Liaisons are user group leaders who run successful user groups in their communities. As volunteers, they have made themselves available to help groups in their areas. They also network with groups in their regions and keep Apple informed on local needs.
