Ideative Inc. has released FlexUSB, the first product in the company’s new line of FlexConnex adapters.
FlexUSB is an adjustable USB adapter that bends, flexes and rotates — Ideative explained that it’s designed to reduce the protrusion of USB peripherals connected to a computer, particularly in cramped environments where every inch counts. The single-port device articulates 90 degrees horizontally and vertically from the computer using a hinge mechanism, and has ratcheting positions so once you’ve got it at the angle you want it, it stays there.
The FlexUSB is Mac and Windows-compatible, and supports USB 2.0 devices as well. USB 2.0 is being supported on the Mac natively for the first time with Apple’s August release of the Power Mac G5.
You can buy the FlexUSB direct from Ideative’s Web site for US$12.99. The company expects retail availability in the third quarter of 2003.
