NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America Inc. has announced its new LCD1565 and LCD1765 flat panel displays. The new analog LCD displays feature a folding, portable design.
The LCD1565 costs US$349 and features 1024×768 pixel native resolution with 88 pixels per inch density, and 350:1 contrast ratio with 225cd/m brightness. It weighs about 8.6 lbs.
The LCD1765 will retail for $549 and works at 1280 x 1024 natively with 96 pixels per inch density, and a 400:1 contrast ratio. It weighs about 13.2 lbs.
Both systems sport a black bezel, acrylic screen and a silver cabinet, and both feature the same stand that adjusts to different angles, including flat against the base, if you need to pick up your display and take it with you.
NEC says the new systems are aimed at the consumer and gaming markets. Both displays feature a captive video cable with a 15-pin VGA cable, which will work with Macs equipped with external analog video connectors.
Both systems are anticipated for delivery soon by authorized NEC-Mitsubishi retailers. The displays both include a one-year limited warranty including backlight, and 24 hour a day tech support.
As MacCentral posted this article, NEC-Mitsubishi’s Web site had not yet been updated with details about the displays, although a press release was available.
